First Italy elects a porn starlet.

Then we elect a pro wrestler.

Now Japan elects a masked pro wrestler.

What's next?

Oh yeah, and hot LJ shirt pictures! Model is [livejournal.com profile] kingfox, photographer is [livejournal.com profile] johnstevensaul.

UPDATE: My attempt last night to test lactose intolerance went through, and I feel fine. The only mark from the hospital stay is the sore red dot I ate through. And the doctor I met at the hospital has tried to set me up to get a camera up my ass tomorrow without, I don't know, checking first with me?

I'm not goth, I'm just wearing the old black

What's with all the black. Are you, like, a goth, or something?

Recovering goth. Every day is a new beginning, I'm taking it one step at a time.

How come you plug LJ so much? I think it's an OK place to start blogging (assuming the servers respond).

It's a black shirt. Can't go wrong with that. I also pimp Fray in the same way. The servers are great usually, if you're paid or perm. And for most people, it's not about how good or bad LJ is for blogging. It's about the community aspects.

You forgot about Sonny Bono getting elected. Ronald Reagan too.

Oh, how could I forget about those two? At least the former took it seriously. Let's not forget Eastwood.

Does that mean you hate your parents/school and you want to live?

Ay, there's the rub!

And for most people, it's not about how good or bad LJ is for blogging. It's about the community aspects.

Fair enough, though it's still copping out on weak blogging tools. I do like the groups, "friends" aggregation, interests, and slutty girls posting pics of themselves. Go community!

I don't like the whole "key" thing though ... that's very clique-ish. Either make people pay, or don't.

Re: I'm not goth, I'm just wearing the old black

Yeah, funny that, I really love myself and enjoy living. If I were to kill myself, I'd have gone through with it instead of living a tortured dark shadowy life for years and being all talk. *shrug* That was poor english.

I like making it an option for people to pay or not. You get what you pay for. If you want to contribute to the community with money, support, or other works - you're an active part of it. If you want to freeload, sure, take a seat. But don't expect the best meat. Like the government in Starship Troopers. No, not the 90210 in sci-fi war movie that was based off the dust jacket of the book, the book. Citizens have certain rights and powers, but serve in the military.

Write some modules for LJ, and you'll get the fast servers.

Well, to each his own.

I prefer the model with a basic version for free (even if you don't know the early adopters personally) and getting extras for money -- e.g. BlogSpot, Geocities, etc.

All I'm saying is, imagine if Google offered a shitty search for free and a good one for people who paid -- they'd have never gotten anywhere.

But hey ... it's not my company.

And the programming time spend writing modules is worth way more than the LJ membership price. If people do it, I have a hunch it's not because they're stingy. :)
