I suck at updating. As usual for the past year or so, just read [livejournal.com profile] jedimentat's LJ (post one and post two) or view my recent uploads on Flickr. Lately I've just been really out of it. Two illnesses, spending lots of time with the girlfriend's family, raiding new content, games I've been waiting years for, transitioning into a new position at work, family in town, and Felicia Day to drool over all suck up a lot of time. So view the photos, and make up your own story to connect them all together.

Went to [livejournal.com profile] mingtm's birthday with [livejournal.com profile] petemagyar and [livejournal.com profile] runstaverun. After a while at the open bar, we got a hankering for lobster. Found lobster in Manhattan available to 1 AM, but not after that. Suffered with French instead. Got much mockery from [livejournal.com profile] jedimentat the next day.

Went into the city for dinner while my stomach was having issues, ended up running into [livejournal.com profile] runstaverun and [livejournal.com profile] kikibird celebrating the former's birthday.
Our HIMYM-ish blurry shot.

The massive amounts of monkey breath ThinkGeek packed with some of [livejournal.com profile] jedimentat's gifts.

Trucks lined up at the start of 24, ready to start cleaning.

One of the things from ThinkGeek I got [livejournal.com profile] jedimentat.

After taming my abdominal issues, my sinuses decided to act up. Ugh.

Something else I got her.

Yet another thing I got her. I swear I got her more than geeky shirts/hats.

Her family, playing around between rounds of ping pong.

My nephew, learning mahjong from a young age.

Giant scary Elmo!

Great shot of the GE Building [livejournal.com profile] jedimentat took.

The tree.

Tempting Hiro Heroes bobble heads.

My nephew being silly in a restaurant, where he flirted with a woman while her date sullenly looked away.

Operating the Hershey Kisses machine.

The 2009 ball!

THE MILFORD PLAZA (if you grew up in the area, you're already hearing the song and cursing my name)

Horseradish infused vodka, we salute you!

Disturbing butt bearded Santa.

And that's that!

I had wasabi-infused vodka once, it was great! My attempt to make my own was...not.

What dish is [livejournal.com profile] jedimentat contemplating?

Interesting, perhaps I will check that place out the next time I'm in NYC. I haven't really explored all of the Mediterranean cuisines...

Certainly look us up the next time you're in town. We're always game to return there, or try something new.

How did you attempt to make wasabi-infused vodka? Just let it sit for a while? What went wrong?

From: [identity profile] metallian.livejournal.com

I took some common green wasabi paste (not real wasabi, even) and stuck an arbitrary amount into a bottle of vodka, then shook it up and let it sit for a few hours.

The vodka got pretty green, but you could barely even taste it.

Now I have a horseradish/true wasabi blend, and I figure I should actually let it sit for a week. And maybe actually read up on how much to use.

Awesome photos, looks like much fun was had by all!

Hope you're feeling better now!

[And yes, I now have that damn Milford Plaza song stuck in my head. Ah, nostalgia...LOL]

It's a great memetic virus to infect people from this area.
