Yay for car window being cheap, cheaper than many bills I've had for unplanned car issues in years.

Boo for the two-door Cavalier glass being backordered and not having the car until Friday.

Yay for living in Hoboken where all the trains go to.

Boo for having to adapt my schedule around the NJ Transit schedule.

Yay for landlord's father having connections to get a parking permit.

Goofus and Gallant, from Highlights magazine? Did pediatric facilities in the north not have Highlights?

I know I've made a couple of Goofus and Gallant posts to Meta over the past five years, sir. I can dig one up.

No, we had highlights

I guess I didn't read it enough to remember such things

Cricket

Cricket is a literary magazine for kids. Little vermin go through adventures on the bottom of the pages, while short stories and the like fill the rest. Had a subscription through my wee years.

Re: Cricket

And they had a mosquito that supposedly came from Jersey or some other Eastcoast area. I remember their trip to NYC in the mid eighties.

Lots of great little short stories for kids, some of which I remember to this day.

Goofus and Gallant

Goofus and Gallant consisted of two brothers, the former would do wrong while the latter did right.

Goofus makes fun of Georgie for being different.
Gallant invites Georgie to join his group of friends.
Goofus puts off doing homework until the last minute.
Gallant gets his homework done well ahead of time.
Goofus always goes for it bareback.
Gallant uses protection.

You get the drift.

Re: Goofus and Gallant

Yeah, well, they really didn't hammer through the negative supposed consequences of the actions of Goofus in the magazine like they do in the online choose your own adventure.

Holy shit, a young Joey Pants is on Highlander the TV series!
