[livejournal.com profile] jenniever and I are currently sharing a network jack in the Sea-Tac Ramada. A little over four hours until our wake up call, then a plane ride straight into Newark.

We already miss people, we pre-emptively miss the nature, and I'll really really really write up a re-cap when we get back. Thanks again to the [livejournal.com profile] victoria_bc crew for showing us a wonderful time!

Oh, food ...

There is a pizza place in my hometown with the thinnest crust around. My grandfather reputably LOVED that little establishment, though its name escapes me (and I've lived in Mahwah for sixteen years now). But I still maintain it has the best thin crust pizza in North Jersey; it comes scarily close to the sacrilicious gourmet masterpiece I ate in Rome.

When I lived in France, I noticed people ate their fries with forks. They also eat pig trotters, a surprise for my 13-year old sister during my family's first trip to Paris, when they were all starving and unable to get ahold of me for a couple hours, so they just winged it. Of course, they don't speak the language, so they just guessed on the menu ...

My friends who made the trek to Amsterdam reported that people eat fries with mayo. I didn't believe it til I went to Brussels. Vince was telling the truth.

Re: Oh, food ...

My only real regret from the trip is not finding any real poutine. Next time.

There's an amazing little fries place in the LES that [livejournal.com profile] runstaverun introduced me to. Great fries, and dozens of different sauces to try with them.

So... speaking of food... you making it to [livejournal.com profile] jennifriendfoodfriday today?
