Make freshman config. Have people test it. Get thumbs up all around. Send it to IBM, go on vacation. Have IBM find errors, have errors reproduced on the image itself, have someone start it from scratch, and errors are found from Recovery Console CHKDSK from the moment Windows is thrown on, even on the blank empty only formatted partition. WTF? WTFF?? One or more errors on the volume makes [livejournal.com profile] kingfox a sad boy.

I know a bunch of you non-[livejournal.com profile] bluemurlocculters/[livejournal.com profile] grayeplumpsupers play [livejournal.com profile] worldofwarcraft, (including [livejournal.com profile] origamislayer, [livejournal.com profile] thebitingfaery, and [livejournal.com profile] amarafox). Any more of you freakish addicts out there? If so, what servers do you play on? If you don't play, why not?

So what happened over the two weeks while I was gone? This isn't one of those, ``I'm not going back and reading LJ, so if you died/had a kid/killed someone/got arrested you'll have to tell me *shudder* individually'' posts. I did and will go back and read all non-feed/community LJs, and have already commented on a few. I'm really asking, if you had to sum up the last two weeks of your life, how would you? How would you describe them to someone who has been absent?

Last two weeks much of my life imploded and was rebuilt, stronger, faster and more resilitiently.

Loved the trip pics, btw.

Your life was torn apart and rebuilt?

Sounds like boot camp. I've seen your vague posts, and am sure that you will explain in due time.

Thanks! A lot of them are skewed, blurry, or poorly lit... but there's a few gems in there that I even like. It was a wonderful time.

Re: Your life was torn apart and rebuilt?

I'm not sure how to be less vague. There's a terribly angry, self-pity post about the whole thing if you'd like to be privy. :)
I'd be more than happy to add you to the filter.

Otherwise, it's all gracy now.

Whoo blurry photos! [livejournal.com profile] graye posted a few excellent shots you took.

Re: Your life was torn apart and rebuilt?

Eh, I'm a voyeur. I'll stare at anyone's life from the outside. It's why many of us are here, right?

Yeah, though he takes far better shots, so his recap of things is more visually pleasing.

You didn't miss much from me...

I announced a fantasy football league that I think you should be in.

I posted my first movie review since June 11th OF LAST YEAR.I reviewed close to 30 movies in my first 6 months I was on LJ and about ONE in the year since *sigh*

OH! and that Pac-man guitar seemed to be a big hit...

I'm not really a sports guy. Shocking, I know. Sure, I have my loyalties, but they're little more than feeble interests over the other teams out there, and doesn't mean that I follow the teams religiously. My roomie's much more into sports than I am. Sadly, I mostly follow sports as they wrap up. I'm a big fan of playoffs.

Good movie review, yes. I agree on Cruise, and I'll probably catch it on cable.

Wakka wakka wha wha.

i'm house sitting. whee! it's in a posh neighborhood. kinda nice. close to work. only downfall is the complete lack of rain and abundace of 90 degree weather which makes taking care of the landscaping way more taxing than I'd prefer.

aren't you glad you asked? :P

Hours after I drop my friend off at the train station I get an email from IBM telling me that the machine that had been sent by said friend couldn't be used. I spend the next two weeks trying to figure out what was wrong with the image, I sent them another drive (also, and expandedly) bad, and then try to create the image from scratch, trying to avoid whatever mystery problem IBM had with the image, while still being painfully aware that CHKDSK was finding and repairing problems whenever I checked throughout the process. That was prety much what my two weeks consisted of while you were gone.

Oh, and Land of the Dead was pretty good.

Man, that blows. I hope your friend at least appreciated all the work you put into it while he was living it up jetsetting and shit. They really should pay you more.

At least you get to drop it on his lap and make him suffer, right?

Last two weeks, I did: nothing.

WoW wise, the reason I don't play is because I have a backlog of approximately 35 other Mac, PC and PS2 games that I am yet to play through, and the last thing I need is another game to distract me. My problem, you see, is that I pick up games on sale, intend to play them, then have other SHIT come along that's inconsequential but eats up my spare time anyway.

I subscribe to WoW, but have not played in months. I have been very busy (admittedly, often with Fun Things) on nights and weekends, and barely have time to keep up with LJ, let alone play WoW.

As for the past two weeks? "I went to Origins, turned 27, saw some fireworks shooting out of someone's backyard, worked, failed to play golf with [livejournal.com profile] wroughtironkite, saw Batman Begins, ran a great D&D session, and had a burst of motivation to improve my workouts."

Woo.

Hope you had a good trip, and welcome back. The WoW thing, I betaed for it, I played on Deathwing for 2 months after it went commercial, got level 60, got bored and promptly stopped playing.

WoW is visually gorgeous, it's a ton of fun. I love instancing, and questing and searching every corner of the world. But honestly, once you hit 60, you realize all thats left is grinding instances for that one special item you always wanted, and PvP so it gets a little iffy.

Can still give you pointers, favorite site in all of it was www.thottbot.com everything quest wise, maps and anything I ever needed was there. Look into the latest version of cosmos, a UI add-on for WoW, made things so much easier and I'm sure it's improved a lot since February.
